Methodology
How this estimate is calculated
All figures are indicative FOB Dongguan ranges based on VOVOHO's standard product platforms. Real pricing is confirmed at quotation stage.
Starting from VOVOHO's ODM product platforms at 100-unit baseline, adjusted for product complexity and customization depth (White Label → Full OEM).
Unit price decreases as quantity increases. At 5,000 units, the effective unit cost is typically 42% lower than at 100 units due to mold amortization and production run efficiency.
Added per unit. Plain white box = $0. Custom retail box structure with 1-2 color print = $0.80–$1.50. Magnetic rigid gift box = $1.80–$3.50.
Silk-screen is the most common and cost-effective. Laser engraving suits metal/hard plastic. Debossed (molded) suits premium silicone. Full-color print uses UV or pad printing.
One-time lab testing + certificate issuance. EU CE+RoHS runs $2,500–$4,500 for a single SKU. FCC (US) is $2,000–$4,000. Global (multi-market) suite: $5,000–$9,000.
Private Label: $200–$600 for dieline, artwork finalization, and film output. Custom ODM: $800–$3,500 for design modification + mold adjustment. Full OEM new mold: $3,000–$15,000.

To add CIF (cost + insurance + freight), add approximately $0.20–$0.80/unit for ocean LCL to EU/US, or $0.05–$0.15/unit for FCL at 1,000+ units.

Common questions about OEM minimum orders
What is the real MOQ for a private-label wellness product?
For standard ODM platforms at VOVOHO, private-label MOQ is typically 100–300 units per SKU. Custom ODM (modified design) usually starts at 300–500 units. Full OEM with new tooling typically requires 500–1,000 units minimum to amortize mold costs, though this varies by product complexity.
Does this calculator include shipping cost?
No. All figures are FOB (Free On Board) Dongguan. Shipping, marine insurance, destination customs duties, and import VAT are buyer-arranged separately. For CIF estimates, add $0.20–$0.80 per unit for ocean LCL freight to EU or US at small quantities.
What is included in the certification budget?
Lab testing fees paid to a third-party lab (e.g. SGS, TÜV, Intertek), certificate preparation, and factory document work. It does NOT include your own compliance attorney fees, product liability insurance, or retail platform listing requirements. CE covers electromagnetic compatibility and safety; RoHS covers restricted substances.
Can I start with 100 units to test the market?
Yes. VOVOHO's white-label and private-label programs support 100-unit test orders for qualifying buyers. The unit price is highest at this quantity, but it allows market validation before committing to 500+ unit orders with full custom packaging.
What drives the biggest cost difference between estimates?
Customization level is the biggest lever: Full OEM adds tooling costs of $3,000–$15,000 regardless of order quantity. Packaging tier is second: upgrading from plain box to magnetic gift box adds $1.80–$3.50 per unit ($1,800–$3,500 at 1,000 units). Certification is a fixed one-time cost that becomes negligible at higher volumes.
Is the estimate accurate enough for a business plan?
It is designed for directional planning, not procurement. The ranges intentionally cover variability in spec, material grade, supplier lead time, and market conditions. For a business plan or investor deck, use the mid-point of the range and add 10–15% contingency. Request a formal quotation to lock actual pricing.
